TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (CNN/WWTV) - It's said one man's trash is another man's treasure. A northern Michigan man owns the pace car Bobby and Al Unser drove during the victory lap at the 1970 Indy 500.

Jeff Stolowski asked a friend to purchase the first Oldsmobile convertible he came across. The friend did so for $600, and within a week Stolowski realized he didn't just acquire a regular fixer-upper.

Stolowski spent the past five years restoring the legendary vehicle, which he says he will not sell.

The car, unveiled over the weekend, hasn't been seen in public in 40 years.
