Texas soldier dies in Afghan. attack
32-year-old killed in grenade, gunfire attack

AUSTIN (AP) - A 32-year-old soldier from the Texas capital died in Afghanistan after being attacked with a rocket-propelled grenade and gunfire.
The Department of Defense announced Wednesday that Sgt. Shaun M. Mittler of Austin had died.
Military officials said Mittler died Saturday of injuries sustained in the attack involving the rocket-propelled grenade and gunfire.
Mittler was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) , Fort Campbell, Ky .
