AUSTIN (KXAN) - It's a happy homecoming for Texas Army National Guard soldiers, who came back to Central Texas today after 10 months in Iraq.
"It’s good to be back home,” said Special E-4 Juan Mellado. “It was an adventurous, exciting trip in Iraq. Good crew, good squad. We did our mission, so now it's just time to relax and be back with family."
Some 90 soldiers were greeted by their families at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Thursday morning. The Bravo Company, 536th Brigade Support Battalion, is based in Austin. They were activated last fall.
The homecoming ceremony will take place at ABIA Friday.
