DOWNTOWN TOLEDO, Ohio - The day after Thanksgiving was truly Black Friday for the Toledo Walleye. They got gobble gobbled up by the visiting Florida Everblades 6-3.

As usual, the Walleye played in front of a packed house at Lucas County Arena, but having the sizable home support wasn't enough. Neither was the return of probably ECHL All-Star defenseman JC Sawyer.

Sawyer returned to Toledo after four games with Rockford of the AHL. He made an immediate impact. Sawyer had a goal and an assist on Friday, including a tying goal that made it 1-1 where he skated past an Everblades defender and ultimately deposited the puck past Florida goaltender Barry Brust.

However, Toledo seemed to be playing from behind the whole game and in the end, that came back to haunt the team.

The Walleye's record now drops to 7-6-1-2. They have back-to-back home games coming up on Saturday and Sunday against South Carolina.
