DOWNTOWN TOLEDO - Jean Claude Sawyer knocked in a power-play goal from the blue line with 3:53 left in the first overtime, giving Toledo a 1-0 win over Trenton Saturday evening at the Lucas County Arena.

This is the second overtime contest and win for the Walleye in the past week.

The Fish (3-2) started the night third in the league on the power play at 28.6 percent (6-for-21), but had no success until Sawyer's game-winner.

The Devils gave up 44 shots on goal. Walleye goaltender Alec Richards turned away 26 Trenton (1-2-1) shots for his first professional shutout.

After winning three games during its first-ever homestand, Toledo goes on the road for the first time with games at Reading (Oct. 29) and Kalamazoo (Oct. 31). The Walleye return home to the Fish Tank for a 10:30 a.m. matinee against the K-Wings on Nov. 4.
