BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Falcons shut down the Wolverines after about 13 minutes in, but they couldn't quite make it all the way back.
The BG hockey team lost 2-1 to UM. The key surge for Michigan came after the Falcons' Tommy Dee was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for checking from behind about midway through the first period.
During the ensuing Wolverine power play, Matt Rust pounced on a rebound to open the scoring followed just over a minute later by a Chris Brown wrister to the right corner of the net.
Tomas Petruska would put BG on the board later in the first. With the score still 2-1 and with three minutes left in regulation, the Falcons went on the power play. Nick Eno was pulled for the extra attacker with 1:30 left, but Bowling Green still couldn't solve Michigan goalie Bryan Hogan and because of it, the Falcons ended up on the losing end of a 2-1 game.
