TOLEDO, Ohio - There are high expectations for the UT women's basketball team this year. But against a BCS-conference school, the season's first win will have to wait for another night.

Toledo fell to Northwestern 73-64 in their first game of the regular season.

But coming against a team from the Big Ten conference, the loss was nothing to be ashamed of.

Tanika Mays led the way with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Start product Yolanda Richardson had a successful college debut in the Midnight Blue and Gold with eight points and six rebounds in 20 minutes.

Toledo will hit the hardwood again this Sunday to go for their first win of the year. The Lady Rockets will host Cleveland State.
