TOLEDO, Ohio - The Rockets made a push late, but it wasn't enough. Toledo lost its season opener 72-62 to Eastern Illinois.

UT did some damage from long distance to bring them back in the game. They were trailing in the second half by nine points when Justin Anyijong and Steven Albrecht hit back-to-back 3's to put the Rockets within three points.

However, Eastern Illinois called timeout immediately afterwards to halt the Toledo momentum and ultimately, that worked.

Albrecht led Rocket scorers with 15 points. Anyijong was the only other Rocket in double figures with 11 points and seven rebounds.

The Rockets next play at Cincinnati on Wednesday night.
