CLEVELAND, Ohio - If the Toledo women suffered from any case of the nerves in the first half against Ball State, those nerves were all gone by the second half.
The Rockets controlled the latter stanza on the way to a 67-56 win over the Cardinals in the MAC tournament quarterfinals.
Naama Shafir led the way with 18 points, including 11 in the first half. However, the Rockets struggled overall in the opening 20 minutes, shooting just under 43% from the field. The score was tied at 30 at the break.
After halftime, the Rockets shot better than 54% from the field. That included Melissa Goodall scoring 10 of her 14 points.
The Rockets now advance to face Kent State on Friday at noon.
