FINDLAY, Ohio - The University of Findlay ended a basketball game Tuesday the way they did 36 straight times last season - with a win.

The fourth-ranked Oilers defeated Concordia 62-47 in their 2009-10 season opener. The win was teh 37th straight win for the program after a 36-0 season a year ago netted a Division II national championship.

However, several key seniors from that championship team are no longer on the team, including player of the year Josh Bostic and buzzer-beating hero Tyler Evans.

This year, the Oilers are heavily relying on Marcus Parker, the GLIAC preseason player of the year. Parker led the way with 19 points.

However, overall, the Oilers struggled in defeat. They shot just over 39% for the game, including 4-18 from three-point land. Findlay needed over three-and-a-half minutes to get their fourth point of the game.

Through it all, though, Findlay won the game. Greg Avery and Jack Smith contributed double-digit scoring and in the one statistic that truly matters, the Oilers are still perfect with a 1-0 record .
