BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WUPW) - Once again, it came down to the last possession. Unfortunately for Bowling Green, it was their second straight close home loss.
The Falcons fell short of Buffalo 68-66 on Saturday afternoon.
BG had as much as a seven-point lead, but the Bulls caught fire in the second half (including 8-10 from three-point land) and took an eight-point lead.
Bowling Green, though, came back. A'uston Calhoun gave BGSU the 64-63 lead on a pair of free throws, but Buffalo answered immediately with a Javon McCrea dunk and a trey by Dave Barnett that staked the Bulls to a 68-63 lead with under a minute left.
A Calhoun layup eleven seconds later closed the gap to 68-66. The Falcons had a chance to tie it and called a timeout with 23 seconds left. Cam Black missed the resulting shot, but there was still life after Barnett missed the front end of a one-and-one for Buffalo. With 5.5 seconds remaining, Jordon Crawford raced the ball to the opposite rim, only to be swatted away by Mitchell Watt as time expired.
Bowling Green's record falls to 8-10, 2-3.
