TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - Defense wins championships, but offense is needed too.
Toledo had some good defense and some decent pitching for awhile, but the bats did not awaken until it was too late in an 8-3 loss to Louisville.
The Hens were only down 1-0 through four innings and 2-0 after five. However, things finally fell apart for Toledo in the sixth inning when the team gave up a four-spot to fall behind 6-0.
Toledo stayed off the scoreboard until a three-run ninth inning provided the final margin.
