TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - A check of the calendar will tell you Monday is the eighth of March, which means in exactly one month the boys of summer will be playing baseball in Downtown Toledo again.
The Toledo Mud Hens open the season April 8 against the Louisville Bats. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Hen House.
Under a bright sunny sky and warm temperatures the field is looking good.
A few changes, though. The Hens actually moved the centerfield fence in six feet and lowered it, so now a good defensive play might take away a home run or two.
In right field there was still some icy snow on the ground. The grounds crew was seen removing the white stuff.
