MILLBURY, Ohio - Lake football's about to embark on a major step on the road to recovery.

The rebuilt football field by the tornado-devastated high school is almost complete.

As of Wednesday, construction workers told Hardcore Sports that the stadium is roughly 90% complete. All that was left to finish were locker rooms that should be done by Thursday, fencing, the visiting stands, and final electrical work.

A brand-new scoreboard was installed on Wednesday.

Lake will play their first home game on the new fieldturf this Friday against rival Northwood. The field is located right beside the high school that was severely damaged by a June tornado. The football team has had to practice without locker rooms, with much of their equipment coming through donation.
