TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - Area high schools have officially formed a new athletics conference. The new Three Rivers Athletic Conference was announced Wednesday.

It will consist of 10 schools: Findlay, Fremont Ross, Lima Senior, Clay, Central Catholic, Notre Dame Academy, St. Francis, St. John's Jesuit, St. Ursula Academy, and Whitmer. The move to form a new league was initiated by Oregon City Schhols earlier in July.

Athletic department cuts at Toledo Public Schools caused these 10 schools to leave the Toledo City League behind.

If approved by each individual school board, the league will begin the fall of 2011.
