CLEVELAND, Ohio - For anybody doubting Ohio State, Saturday provided a glimpse of just how superior the Buckeyes still are over the majority of the college football world.
Ohio State shut down a Toledo offense that had totalled nearly 90 points in the season's first two weeks. There WAS no Toledo offense in this game. The Bucks shut out the Rockets 38-0 at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Coicidentally enough, it was a Toledo native that burned UT early and often. Former Central Catholic High School star Dane Sanzenbacher scored on a 76-yard pass play on the Buckeyes' first drive. About eight minutes later, Sanzenbacher struck again. This time, Terrelle Pryor found the wideout for an 18-yard touchdown to give the Buckeyes the 14-0 lead.
The Buckeyes more than doubled the Rockets in total yardage, finishing with 522 compared to 210 for UT.
That UT defense had a tough time containing Pryor. The OSU quarterback threw for three scores and ran for another, combining for over 370 yards.
By the end, Ohio State had thoroughly dominated, and Buckeye critics from this past week, were in a much better mood in the postgame press conferences.
