Circus booked as first extended event

DOWNTOWN TOLEDO - After the puck drops on the first Toledo Walleye hockey game next fall, the circus will come to the Glass City and the new downtown arena.

Lucas County Commissioners and event management company SMG have booked the Ringling Bros./Barnum and Bailey Circus for a series of shows in mid-November 2009.

"The Greatest Show on Earth" will perform at the new arena Nov. 11-15, 2009.

The commisioners, arena management and Jonathan Bradford, National Ringmaster for Ringling Brothers, will make a formal announcement Wednesday afternoon on top of the Port Lawrence Parking Garage overlooking the arena construction site.

There is no word on when tickets will go on sale.
