Two men seen behind home before fire started

A sketch was released Wednesday of one of two suspects who the Monroe County Sheriff Department believe have information pertaining to an June 24 abandoned house fire in Temperance, Mich.

According the the county sheriff a fire damaged an abandoned home in the 9300 block of Summerfield Road.

Witnesses told investigators that they saw two men leaving the residence immediately before the fire roared to life. The men were behind the building for two hours before leaving, investigators said.

The witnesses said the suspects were both white males. One suspect was described as 6-foot-0 in height with a brown military-cut hairstyle, weighs about 160 pounds and appeared to be between the ages of 20 and 30.

The other suspect was not identified.

According to witnesses, the subjects left the Summerfield Road home in separate vehicles; a possible red Volkswagen Jetta and a charcoal gray, four-door Ford F-150 truck.

A generator and a gas can was seen in the bed of the F-150 truck.

Investigators want to speak with both men, and urge anyone with information to contact Monroe County Sheriff Detective Jeff Pauli at (734) 240-7745.
