WUPW - If the National Weather Service issues a tornado warning, that means one is on the ground, or there's an extremely good chance it will be soon - and you need to take cover immediately.

Obviously, if you've got a basement get there, and stay away from any windows.

If you don't, get to the lowest floor in a small center room, like a bathroom or a closet. Try to cover yourself with a mattress or blankets in case debris comes flying.

Oh, and don't worry about opening the windows to equalize pressure. That's just an urban legend. Focus on keeping yourself and your family safe.

If you live in a mobile home park - get out. It's not safe. That's the Red Cross rule for mobile homes and vehicles.

Instead get to a low-lying ditch or the basement of a nearby sturdy building. It's best to figure out this place ahead of time. Talk to your neighbors about your plans in case of a tornado emergency.

The FOX Toledo Stormtracker Chase Team will be be following all these same rules while we're out chasing.
