McCardell to be tried as adult

    DOWNTOWN TOLEDO - Deshawn McCardell, the 17-year-old suspect accused of shooting and killing Rogers High freshman student-athlete Antonyo Phillips in December, will stand trial as an adult. A trial date is pending. McCardell was transferred from the juvenile jail to the Lucas County Jail Tuesday afternoon.
