TOLEDO, Ohio - Kroger Co. is closing the doors on its Toledo location at 559 E. Manhattan Blvd. Once the lease ends October 10, 2009, the company will stop its operations in the building.
This doesn't mean that Kroger is leaving Toledo, though. Kroger is going to remain a presence in the Toledo landscape.
First, the president of Kroger's Columbus Division, Bruce Macaulay, will offer associates at the store opportunities to transfer to other stores in the area.
Kroger also plans to continue developing stores in the Toledo area by relocating the store currently at 1300 Michigan Ave. and opening a new store in its place. The company is also looking into finding a way to put an additional store in Perrysburg.
