Finkbeiner: Webber staying put

DOWNTOWN TOLEDO - Jason Webber, Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner's public information officer, will keep his position after portions of Webber's mySpace blog was posted on SwampBubbles.com.

The mayor on Wednesday said Webber would be keeping his job adding his spokesman is a "nice guy," "has a good heart," and that everyone makes mistakes.

Webber addressed the local media, saying he apologized to Mayor Finkbeiner for the comments he made on his mySpace page.

"I have apologized to him profusely. I have apologized to the administration for the shame this brought. I had absolutely no idea something like this could happen."

Webber added that the mayor's support speaks volumes and that he would be forever grateful.

Tuesday morning, screenshots of comments from Webber's personal mySpace blog written in November 2008 criticizing Mr. Finkbeiner were posted on Swampbubbles.com.

Webber strongly believes his account was hacked into.
