Toledo Technology Academy 'excellent'

WEST TOLEDO - Earlier this week, the Ohio Department of Education dubbed five Toledo Public School district schools excellent. Toledo Technology Academy is on that list.

The West Toledo school is proud of the honor for the 2008-09 school year.

Staff and students at TTA say a professional setting, non-traditional classrooms, and small class sizes are just some of the reasons why the institution is doing so well.

Right now there are about 180 students at the technology focused school on Upton Ave.

But some graduates come back to the school and give of their time, because they love it there so much.

"I do come back a couple of times a year, I like to help teachers give back what they have given me, this place has done so much more for me than I ever expected it to," said Jessica Hennessey, a graduate of TTA.

TTA has a 100% graduation rate, and the students met all of the state requirements.
