SYLVANIA - Nobody knows if grandstands will ever be put up again at Highland Meadows. That's because the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic's contract with corporate sponsors expired. Negotiations will be ongoing, but during the Farr, this past week, Golfweek reports that several of the tour's top players met up.

These golfers included the likes of Lorena Ochoa, Paula Creamer, Cristie Kerr, Morgan Pressel, and Natalie Gulbis. After the meeting, they sent a letter to the LPGA tour board, requesting the resignation of LPGA commissioner Carolyn Bivens. The Jamie Farr's just one of 14 tournaments up for renewal. Players have been told that the LPGA has ten contracts for 2010, but they've lost seven tournaments in the past two years. They've also lost McDonald's as a title sponsor to one of their majors, the LPGA Championship. The players say that the problems can't all be blamed on a tough economy, and that a new leader's needed to rebuild relationships with longtime sponsors.

Bivens replaced Ty Votaw as LPGA commissioner.  She has two years remaining in her deal with the LPGA.
