PERRYSBURG, Ohio - Dick Tressel was the latest in a long line of distinguished speakers to visit Northwest Ohio's top graduated high school football players.

Tressel, Ohio State's running backs coach, recruits this area. He actually used to coach around here too. From 1971 to 1973, Tressel was the head football coach at Gibsonburg High School. In Tressel's speech to the players, he referred to this time period, when he also served as a math teacher, stressing that it was much easier to get his kids to listen to him when he was talking about football.

After Tressel was done speaking with the kids, he spoke to the media, and when prompted about the post-Beanie Wells running back era, he mentioned how if the Buckeyes will have a running back-by-committee approach, that it's a strong committee. He mentioned how Boom Herron distinguished himself last year, but Tressel also noted that Brandon Saine should expect to see more carries too coming back from injury.
