BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - You would expect criminal to be drug tested. In Wood County police officers are being tested, too.

Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn was among the first to be randomly selected to be tested after instituting the random drug testing policy in his office. In a recent unprecedented move, all 125 employees of the Sheriff's Office are subject to random drug tests.

"It's never been done here. Its a first. I worked in Perrysburg for 14 1/2 years and we never did drug testing there either, said Sheriff Wasylyshyn. "I'm a big believer of lead by example and if it's something I expect my employees to do them I'm going to do its also."

Lab results from Ready Works Services at Wood County Hospital are due back within a few days.  The Sheriff says he expects each and every one of his employees to come back clean. But, its a good precedent that sends a message to every to pay attention to what they do with their lives.

Certainly I don't expect anyone to test positive,” said the Sheriff. But its just good checks and balances for us to have in the system."
