DELTA, Ohio - Southeastern Fulton County residents continue to clean up from tornado damage that that stretched from State Highway 109 and cut a narrow but destructive path across Fulton County Saturday night.
A Fulton County resident was killed when a tornado whipped through Lake Township in Wood County.
Two Fulton County homes were leveled, and about 40 in all were affected, when two twisters which touched down south of Delta about 10:45 p.m. and cut across the county at a 45 degree angle, uprooting trees, downing electric lines and tearing siding off houses in its wake, according to local officials. The tornadoes traveled east into Lucas County.
Fulton County Sheriff Darrell Merillat said the first call about two homes on County Road 7 being leveled came in to the department at approximately 10:48 p.m. A tornado warning was issued in the county earlier, after the National Weather Service confirmed sightings of two tornadoes, was scheduled to be canceled about 10 minutes later.
