TOLEDO, Ohio - A Toledo high school student is recovering this afternoon after being hit by a school bus this morning.

The teenage student was crossing the intersection of Lagrange Street and Central Avenue just before 8 a.m.

The TPS bus was turning left into the crosswalk and hit the student. Reportedly, the bus was turning the corner on a green light moments before the teen was struck.

The student was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. He was treated for minor injuries. The bus driver was taken to the hospital to be examined.

The bus driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian by Toledo police.

Patty Mazur, Toledo Public Schools spokeswoman, said the school district will conduct an internal investigation before determining if any disciplinary action will be taken against the driver.
