SOUTH TOLEDO - Mayor Carty Finkbeiner said Tuesday that demolition on the former Southwyck Mall site will be complete by Nov. 12.
Residents concerned about the property's future gathered at Maumee Valley Country Day School to voice their input about what should replace the mall.
One plan is the create the Village at Southwyck from Perrysburg developer Larry Dillin.
Some residents say there's a lack of interest from the owners of the property and that's why the area is still empty. They would like to see trees fill the space other than an empty parking lot.
"If they focused more on green space and all they could spend some of the shopping area, put some of it down at Southland," said South Toledo resident Karen Shanahan. "We have about four buildings, big buildings, empty there and not focusing on shopping as much at Southwyck."
Dillin has shown interest in the property, he was not at Tuesday's meeting.
