TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo police detectives said Tuesday that they have identified two of the gunmen who were captured on surveillance video firing off several rounds at the Route 66 Kitchen bar and grill last week.
No charges have been filed but detectives are hoping to talk to the men they believe fired several rounds into a packed West Toledo club near the University of Toledo campus. A warrant has been issued for the second suspect.
Investigators said one of the alleged gunmen is a cook who works at the bar.
Detectives said patrols have been dispatched to the bar several times over the past two years, including nine times so far in 2009.
Mayor Carty Finkbeiner said the city will seek to close the bar and grill.
"The city of Toledo will, with the assistance of the public safety department and the inspection department and the health department, will seek closure of Route 66 as soon as legally possible," the mayor said.
Police also released several 9-1-1 calls from the incident to the media on Tuesday. A number of calls showed the distress of many patrons who were caught inside the bar when the shots were fired.
Since the shootout, police have stepped up patrols around the Westwood Avenue neighborhood.
