An Ottawa Hills police officer has been indicted by the Lucas County grand jury for his role in a shooting incident May 23.
A grand jury indicted Officer Thomas White on a charge of felonious assault with a firearm.
In the early morning hours of May 23, Ottawa Hills officers were chasing two people on motorcycles near Indian and Central.
Officer White conducted a traffic stop shortly after 2 a.m. after a short chase involving two motorcyclists. One motorcyclist, Michael McCloskey, was allegedly shot by White.
McCloskey was treated ad released at nearby Toledo Hospital.
The other suspect was arrested without any problems.
The Ohio Attorney General's Office was called into investigate the shooting. One motorcyclist was arrested and charged with OVI, fleeing from police, and driving under suspension.
A court date is pending.
