NORTH TOLEDO - The Ohio Theatre in North Toledo will close Oct. 31 after 88 years of operation, but it's not necessarily a bad thing.

The Lagrange Development Corporation has decided to purchase the theatre and are putting together plans to renovate it.

Terry Glazer, who's with the Lagrange Development Corporation, said Tuesday there is no timeline for renovating the building, but the group expects the refurbishment to last into 2011.

The Ohio Theatre is set to close Oct. 31 after an Oct. 24 performance of REPO! The Genetic Opera, and a showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show on Halloween night. Tickets are $10 for both events.

A sale of theatre assets - tables, folding chairs, speakers, and lighting rigs - will be on sale Nov. 4-8. Proceeds will help pay off theatre back debts.
