SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - A former Toledoan who moved to Arizona in 2003 has been reported missing by family members in Toledo.
David Moore, Jr., a graduate of St. John's Jesuit High School and Ohio State University, has been missing since July. He was last seen in Scottsdale, Ariz., a suburb of Phoenix.
Family members in Toledo and friends in Phoenix are aggressively searching for him, working with the Scottsdale Police Department and the social media networking site, Facebook.com.
David Moore, Sr., his father, said family members have not spoken to the 37-year-old man in more than a month.
"I have to be optimistic, so looking at it through an optimistic pair of glasses I believe he's alive and I believe perhaps something mentally happened to him, from maybe severe depression," David's father told FOX Toledo News.
KSAZ FOX 10 / myFOXPhoenix.com reported Tuesday that Moore disappeared sometime in July after he lost his job.
Moore is not married and he lives alone, family members told FOX Toledo News. He may have been going through financial problems.
Moore, who celebrated his 37th birthday Sept. 7, has not used his cell phone or car. New license plate tags have not been ordered for his 2006 black 4-door Honda Accord.
MyFOXPhoenix.com reported Moore recently moved out of his Scottsdale apartment and took all of his belongings into a storage unit. The storage unit has not been touched, the station said.
A Facebook.com profile requesting for tips on Moore's disappearance states he vacated his apartment on May 30. He was last seen with his father on June 5 in Scottsdale.
"I don't know what your circumstances are, but it doesn't change the fact that we love you," David's father told KSAZ FOX 10. "We just want you back. Give us a call."
Moore is 5-foot-9 in height and weighs 175 pounds. A missing person's report was filed with the Scottsdale Police Department on Sept. 22.
According to a media release sent by the Scottsdale police Tuesday evening, their department is actively involved in the search for the former Toledo man in Arizona, checking his cell phone records, flagged his name and license with US Border Patrol agents and sent out his description to law enforcement agencies across the country.
Scottsdale detectives said that there is no sign of foul play at this point in the investigation and they are not investigating a crime.
If you have any information on David, or have seen David in Arizona or in Ohio are you asked to call (419) 360-2150 in Ohio, (305) 215-8088, or Scottsdale Police at (480) 312-5000.
