WEST TOLEDO - If you want to see ghosts, goblins, and other creatures this Halloween season, two area teenagers know exactly where you should go.
Two high schoolers, 17-year-old Nick Francis of Toledo Technology Academy and 15-year-old Max Simon from Cleveland, opened their first commercial haunted house this season.
Hellsgate is located on West Alexis Road inside a former Foodtown grocery store.
Nick and Max created two different kinds of haunted houses inside Hellsgate - a haunted house on one side and a pitch-black room called the Chaos Maze ( READ: more on Hellsgate from FOX Toledo media affiliate Toledo Free Press ).
"They can expect pretty much the scariest house in Toledo - these are quotes from people who leave," Nick said. "We got people saying it's better than all the other ones combined. People say it's better than (Cedar Point's) Halloweekend haunted houses, so it's a lot. It's like every single phobia people might have."
Hellsgate is open Friday and Saturday. Gates open at 7 p.m.
The haunted house is located inside of an abandoned Foodtown grocery store on West Alexis in Toledo. Proceeds from $10 entry fees into Hellsgate will go toward the Make A Wish Foundation, a non-profit that grants wishes to children suffering from life-threatening illnesses.
