PERRYSBURG, Ohio - Dana Corporation is selling off antiques and artwork it has collected over the years as it prepares to move its headquarters from Toledo to Maumee. An auction will be held Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Carranor Hunt and Polo Club in Perrysburg.
An open house is scheduled for 1-5 p.m. at the Carranor Hunt and Polo Club before the auction starts, according to the auctioneer's Web site.
Items on the auction block will include a bar from the boardroom, Lenox China from the company jet, Audubon print that hung in the dining room. I public preview of the items was held Tuesday evening. This is the second auction the company has held, but local auctioneer Pamela Rose from Pamela Rose Auction Company, LLC says this one is much more exciting.
“We have antiquities, furnishings, prints, paintings, glassware, something for everyone,” said Rose.
Rose says a corporate auction like this is unusual for Northwest Ohio... you'd more likely find something like this in New York City. And it is already drawing lots of interest.
"You will in my opinion never see anything like this in Toledo again. The Dana Corporation is a Fortune 500 company. They've done business internationally and nationally. There are treasured that they purchases, there are gifts that they gathered here from throughout the world," said Rose.
"I have had some Internet bidding that is very lively," she added. "We have had a gentleman from Thailand that is expressing interest and is registered for this particular auction."
All of the items came out of Dana's headquarters on Dorr Street. In September, the company will consolidate into its existing technical center in Maumee. Health Care Reit plans to take over the Dorr Street campus.
Part of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Dana Holding Corporation Foundation to support charities. You can view a catalogue of the items up for auction by going to the Pamela Rose Auction Company Web site.
