SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - A missing Toledo native who was reported missing for several months in Arizona, has been found safe, his family in Toledo said Sunday.
David Moore, 37, who grew up in the Glass City and graduated from St. John's Jesuit High School, was found safe by family members who had traveled from Toledo to Phoenix on Saturday to search for him. MyFOXPhoenix reported that Scottsdale police located his car, a 2006 black 4-door Honda Accord, within city limits last week at a Courtyard Marriott hotel.
Moore was found alive and well in the city of Fountain Hills, which is located 20 miles northeast of Scottsdale, where he resided until a few months ago, said relative Bob Moore in an e-mail to FOX Toledo News.
Scottsdale police said Moore called his relatives and investigators do not believe there was foul play in his months-long disappearance. He had been missing since July.
In the e-mail to family and friends, Uncle Bob Moore said David "looked pretty weary. With lots of hugs, tears, hot shower, clean clothes, and a good meal Davey looks great."
Uncle Bob said Davey and the rest of his family will be reunited in Toledo this Friday, Oct. 16.
"The entire Moore family wants to express their profound gratitude to all the media and Phoenix area authorities, especially the Scottsdale Police, for their efforts in finding Davey," the e-mail said. "We could not have done it without you."
"The emotional relief to family and friends in finding Davey was of Prodigal son proportion," Uncle Bob wrote. "All the prayers and support of so many have left the family humbled by their actions."
There was a national effort to search for Moore over the past month. A Facebook page and a Web site were created to aid in the search.
