DOWNTOWN TOLEDO - The city of Toledo is aggressively pursuing to obtain about $2 million of left-over stimulus money.

Ohio's Environmental Protection Agency has received unspent stimulus funding from the federal government. The money was returned from communities that had requested assistance but didn't have "ready to go" projects.

Glass City officials are taking bids for Phase II of the Marina District project, which includes the installation of bike trails and the amphitheater.

The hope is to show Ohio EPA officials that dirt can get moving in January right after the December holiday season.

The stimulus funding is grant money, so it does not need to be paid back.
