Shuttered Clarion Hotel sold for $1.5M

SOUTH TOLEDO - The Clarion Hotel on Reynolds Road in South Toledo, which has been closed since 2008, was purchased Wednesday by TransCapital Bank for $1.5 million.

TransCapital Bank bought the hotel near Heatherdowns Boulevard and the Toledo-Maumee border at a Lucas County Sheriff's sale. It was appraised at just over $2 million.

Back in July, FOX Toledo News found unlocked doors and a mess inside the hotel, including debris in the swimming pool.

There is no word on what the buyer plans to do with the hotel.
