A Toledo man's documented unemployment journey

TOLEDO, OHIO - There are still more than 25,000 people in Lucas County looking for a job. Some have already given up.

Toledoan Scott Lightfoot knows what that feels like. He was suddenly unemployed after 15 years working in education. To cope with the loss of his job, Lightfoot started writing a blog.

" Shockingly Unemployed " documents his six months of life without work. He said he tried to find the humor in his personal tragedy. Lightfoot talks about the frustrations of his job search; how he applied for more than 200 jobs, went on nine interviews, and thought about being anything from a truck driver to a knife salesman.

Now that LIghtfoot has found a job as a TV satellite installer, he said he hopes his blog will encourage others in their job search. He's even looking to get the more than 80 pages published.
