TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - He's quite familiar with the President's sweet tooth.
Toledo native and White House Executive Pastry Chef Bill Yosses was back in the Glass City Monday Monday evening talking about his role in Washington, D.C.
A room inside Swan Creek Retirement Village was packed with people, including his father Ed Yossess, who is a resident. They were excited to see and hear from the Bowsher High School and University of Toledo graduate.
Bill Yosses explained how proud he is to work with First Lady Michelle Obama, who has brought healthy eating to the forefront.
He started working at The White House in 2006.
The No. 1 priority is to serve the first family and their guests.
Chef Yosses said being a chef is hard work but it’s a fantastic job.
“People have dreams," he said. "I've always dreamt big and it certainly occurred to me that (becoming the White House Executive Pastry Chef) was a possibility,” he said. “It never seemed like it would be a reality but in fact it goes to show dream big dreams because they come true."
Yosses has been a chef for more than 30 years and has worked in France. He's also written several books.
President Barrack Obama's favorite pastries are pies, including cobblers or crisps, Chef Yosses said.
He also adds you can have a healthy lifestyle and still eat dessert, in moderation of course.
