MIDDLETON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WUPW) - A fatal crash just before 3 p.m. Sunday took the lives of two people and brought traffic on Interstate 75 to a halt for several hours a few miles north of Bowling Green.
The wreck happened around 2:40 p.m. Sunday. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said the driver lost control and both occupants were ejected.
The interstate in that area remained closed as of 6 p.m. Authorities are asking you to avoid traveling in that direction.
Southbound traffic was stopped about midway between the Sugar Ridge Road and Nims Road overpasses at approximately milepost 184. Northbound traffic was also eventually halted. The Ohio Highway Patrol was directing southbound traffic off I-75 onto Ohio 582 and then west to Ohio 25 and southbound through Bowling Green.
The crash remains under investigation.
