Toledo Police Chief Mike Navarre tells FOX Toledo News two Toledo police officers have been relieved of duty, without pay, pending disciplinary action after testing positive for marijuana.
According to Chief Navarre, 48 random drug tests were performed in the past week on his staff. This was the first time the Toledo Police Patrolman's Association could conduct drug tests after a new contract with the TPPA and the city was ratified by city council in July (drug testing was not permitted under the previous contract).
Charges are expected to come Friday or next week.
No names being released until that time.
