TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo Police Chief Mike Navarre has recommended four Toledo Police officers be suspended for 90 days.
Disciplinary hearings were heard Monday morning for Officers James Brier and Donald Mitchell who were charged with drunk driving while on duty. Officers Curtis Jewell and Karon Gallop tested positive for marijuana during random drug screenings.
All four agreed to a 90 work-day suspension, roughly four and a half months, without pay.
The Toledo Police Patrolman's Association signed off on the agreement, meaning the officers cannot appeal the recommendation.
According to Chief Navarre, if any of the four test positive during any subsequent random drug testing, they would be subject to termination. Navarre says the severity of the punishments will hopefully set an example.
