FULTON COUNTY, Ohio - A lot of Ohioans still carry the quaint notion of Old MacDonald's Farm when they think of the state's agriculture business, Karen Minton said.
As campaign manager for Ohioans For Humane Farms (OFHF), she wants them to understand that that image is archaic.
Raising livestock for beef and dairy products now involves what the organization considers the cruel and inhumane confinement of animals to increase output.
That's something they, in alliance with the Humane Society of the United States and other organizations, are determined to change through a state ballot initiative in November.
