Regional leaders say Toledo needs an "ego boost"

PERRYSBURG, Ohio - The Toledo area seems to be suffering from an inferiority complex.

While residents of the region appreciate its low cost of living, variety of cultural opportunities, and lack of traffic jams, when it comes time to talk about the Toledo area some are almost apologetic.

But a group of regional leaders believes that the Toledo area deserves - actually, really needs an ego boost. So they got together to hire a consultant, Applied Storytelling Inc., to come up with a "brand" for the Toledo region.

"If we don't change this thing, we're going to be out of business," said Dave Nolan, representing Destination Toledo.
