SWANTON, Ohio (WUPW) - Maritime Administration Director David Matsuda visited Toledo's Maritime Academy to see what the town's academy is all about.
Matsuda watched a firefighting training scenario at the facility in Swanton. Maritime Career Tech Education program students got to show off all they've learned.
"It's one thing when you're aboard a ship and you don't have access to a fire department, hospital, you really have to be trained in all these things to be part of the crew," he said. "You could be hours or days away from emergency response capabilities."
