FREMONT, Ohio (WUPW) - A man is dead after crashing his motorcycle and being struck by a pick-up truck as he lay on the pavement.

According to The Ohio State Highway Patrol,   Brian and Carrie Everett, both 42, of Elmore, Ohio were heading northbound on County Road 128, near Township Road 97, north of Fremont, where Mr. Everett lost control of the Harley Davidson motorcycle they were riding around 11p.m. Thursday. Both riders were ejected from the bike in the single-vehicle crash.

Sometime after, a pick-up truck travelling southbound, driven by Theodore Wise Jr. of Fremont, Ohio, struck Mr. Everett as he lay on the road.

Mr. Everett was pronounced dead at the scene while Mrs. Everett was air-lifted to Toledo Hospital. She is listed with serious physical injuries.

No helmets were worn by the bikers and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the motorcycle losing control.

Charges are pending upon completion of the investigation.
