Boy dies after Central Toledo hit-and-run

CENTRAL TOLEDO - A teenage boy has died after being hit by a pickup truck as he tried to walk across a busy Toledo street, coroner's officials said Friday.
Authorities said 13-year-old Jonathan Dotson of Toledo suffered head injuries after being hit Tuesday evening near the intersection of Detroit and Prospect Avenues in Central Toledo. Dotson died Thursday at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.
Deputy Lucas County Coroner Diane Barnett said a report showed the boy was hit by a car, with the impact sending him in front of another vehicle.
She said the report showed the first vehicle fled.
Residents who live near the accident scene tell FOX Toledo News that family members have placed teddy bears near the intersection as a memorial.
