TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - Seventeen-year-old Chad Rabara entered a not guilty plea during his arraignment in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.
Rabara is charged with attempted aggravated murder and felony assault. His bond was set at $350,000.
Police detectives said Rabara, a 16-year-old minor, 20-year-old Martin Cheno and 19-year-old Jorge Rojas fired about a dozen shots at Officer George Shaughnessy's cruiser when he tried to pull over a vehicle in a neighborhood near the old Southwyck Mall.
Rabara's due back in court in October for his trial. He was certified to stand trial as an adult Aug. 13.
Cheno and Rojas also pleaded not guilty and are awaiting trial.
A fifth person, 18-year-old Bridget Oyerbides, was arrested July 22 in connection with the shooting. She was charged with tampering with evidence.
