PERRYSBURG, Ohio (WUPW) - Owens Community College officials in Perrysburg said Monday that a student has contracted a case of the
Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) bacterial infection.Students and staff were notified Monday. School administrators said the campus community who has had direct contact with the unnamed student, were notified.
The community college said the only building in which the student had contact was the Law Enforcement/Fire Science Building. School officials said though MRSA is unlikely to be transmitted through contact with hard surfaces, the police and fire facility was treated as a precaution.
